stuck in expanse

motionless in expanse

the sea lures the ship into sea,

out from the dark,

so tenderly, delicately,

into the light,

where the brown hues

shimmer underneath the moonlight,

pulling, tugging, directing,

towards something—

and the ocean wind greets the flag—

the flag hung in tatters,

blows air into her lungs—

lifts her once again, where somehow

it still swings with resilience,

musters the strength, to wave—

in such a way you could sense

an assist, heavily the flag weighs—but still it carries—

waves—like a farewell to voyagers,

waves—like an alarm for the searching.

the sea lures the ship to sea,

the ship lures the explorers to me,

come on follow me through

turbulent waters, whiplash of blues,

behind the songs of the ark,

its mouths open, jagged teeth—

the wooden floorboards awaken,

they sing.

empty crooners of the pacific,

hum like choirs, into vibrations,

echoing—

i am here ! i am here ! beneath !
